One of our ClayPaws® kits customers told me about a wonderful organization that rescues Asiatic black bears, mostly in China. She worked with them, making ink paw prints of each bear she got to know. She said she wished she'd known about ClayPaws® kits at the time, but knows it would have taken a dozen kits or more to make a bear print. I know this is true because we helped make prints of a famous bear's paw several years ago. He was a grizzly who starred in movies like The Bear and The Edge. It took 25 pounds of clay in a large turkey pan, baking for three hours, to make a pawprint. His handlers had the prints bronzed and sold them as a fundraiser. We have one in the waiting room at the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital where the bear was a cancer patient many years ago.
Anyway, if you're interested in bears, check out this website at www.animalsasia.org For a few dollars in donations, you can provide special treats for a bear or, for a larger donation, you can help sponsor one. Truly inspiring work... (photo from www.animalsasia.org)

I remember Bart the Bear and the Seuss family who loved, trained, and took care of him. Such a fabulous story and one I'll likely never forget about during my years at CSU! I think it's wonderful that ClayPaws can be used in so many diverse ways...that's one of the things that make them so unique and special.

I love that there are organizations out there that help take care of our animal cousins. This place, the elephant sanctuary, the many animal rescue organizations that exist... it's all good. :-)
