A friend forwarded this video to me a couple weeks ago. It is a touching story about a dog who was born to be trained as a service dog. Turned out that Ricochet wasn't the right temperament for service dog training. She would get distracted too easily, and that can be unsafe for the human she is helping.
So, her owner decided to see if she could surf! And she took to it! Now she is helping by doing fundraisers for people by surfing!
Take a look at her story. The video is worth watching all the way through! A very touching story!

Beautiful story and video, and so relevant to our human lives as well! We flourish when we play to our strengths and focus on what we can do rather than what we can't. Ricochet is obviously a very smart dog who had good training and an astute trainer who was able to see what was innate in her dog. I love that Ricochet is still, in her own way, very much a service dog.

Wow! Very touching and meaningful. We all need to be loved for who we are and do what we love to do instead of just the work we think we SHOULD do...smart lady to see that's true of her dog, too.
Thanks, Tammy. The music really made this for me...

Each dog has such a distinct personality; how great that someone saw Ricochet's strengths and allowed her to become a valuable service dog.
