I want to alert you all to another great article in a popular magazine about the People-Pet bond...
The November-December 2009 issue of the AARP magazine has a lengthy article about the lengths some pets have gone to protect or even save their owners' lives. There is a most touching story about a military dog who now lives with the mother of the man he served with in Iraq...I won't tell you the details because the article expresses the story so well.
I urge you to read this issue on newstands now...I like to support the mainstream media when they give prominence to stories like these about the significant roles of animals in our lives. I think it helps awaken us to the importance of pets in our lives and helps everyone realize that we must do a better job of caring for them and supporting animal causes.
Read about Lex and let me know what you think...

Wonderful story Laurel! I agree that it's really important for people to read these types of stories so that we can improve our protection of and dedication to companion animals everywhere.

Ok, call me a sentimental fool, but that story brought me to tears. In part because of the senseless loss of life, and in part because of the tremendous power of Love. All of the stories were moving. Thank you for sharing that article, Laurel.
