I just love these stories! Amazing tales of animals helping other animals - even when they are different species.
Halo Animal Rescue, of Phoenix, AZ, called animal control for help. They had a bitty chihuahua pup who had lost its mom right after being born. The pup needed to nurse. The rescue workers called animal control to see if they had any nursing moms who might be able to help.
Animal control had one mom. It happened to be a black cat. They tried it out, and lo and behold, the pup and the mommy cat are doing great! What a save! Watch this cute video of the story!

So sweet...the cat looks just like one of ours named Jewel. I so admire people who will extend themselves on behalf of an animal...I'm sure it tooks hours of their time to get the cat and pup connected. Such dedication!

Just an amazing display of nurturing behavior...who says that dogs and cats can't get along?

Oh she does look like Jewel! Isn't it wonderful to see such stories as this? I love it when you hear of people going to great lengths to help animals - and then animals in turn helping!

I love these kinds of stories! So sweet. I'd be curious to follow up on this pup in a couple of months. Will she be litter box trained? Will she exhibit cat-like behaviors? Will they socialize her with dogs once she is no longer dependent on the momma kitty? Will she exhibit a fondness for cats as an adult dog? What a wonderful story, Tammy -- thanks for sharing it.
